Welcome!
My name is Rémi Plourde and I’m a professional Web designer and developer. Since 1995, I made countless Web sites and videos for myself, friends, volunteer projects, and lucrative businesses.
My knowledge in computers and programming is well diverse: I use Windows, Linux, and Mac systems everyday. I code Web sites in a multitude of languages, including JavaScript, ColdFusion, ASP, and most prominently, PHP. Obviously, I also use HTML and CSS. Also, I am an expert in certain PHP applications such as Drupal and WordPress, which can greatly help you set up a quick and simple Web site. The applications I develop often require databases such as MS SQL and MySQL.
I am originally from New Brunswick, where I’ve also studied, and I’m currently living in Ottawa, Canada. My hobbies are Internet, photos, food, and Japan. As you may have guessed, I can speak and write English, French, and a practical level of Japanese. I’m always looking for opportunities, even if I already have a great full-time job. I wish someday to experience working in Japan as a Web developer. (Not as an English teacher.)

- Ottawa Japanese Language School Web site remake, using Drupal 6 and a custom Zen theme I designed.
- Another designer and I redesigned the Mac OS X black-and-white menu icon for Dropbox.
- Web site I recently finished at my current full-time job: NHRC (Drupal 5 site with custom Zen-based theme).
- A few Web sites I’ve worked on at my previous full-time jobs: World of Maps (design), MacLeod of Glenelg (code), BandMates Network (code), Pash Weddings (code), Multicultural Calendar (code), Healthy Food Bank (code), Variations (code).
- Handlebar Studios, a new Web site design and photography company set in the Byward Market in Ottawa. They made their design, and I’ve assembled a custom WordPress theme for their site.
- Edojin, yet another site about the Japanese culture. It’s not ready yet. At the moment, it’s hosting the registration form and other information for the Canadian Tulip Festival Japan Pavillion.
- OCInfo, an unofficial Web site about Ottawa’s public transit, OC Transpo. Also home of the famous OCInfo Mobile, a Web tool for your mobile to get OC Transpo route timetables at a specific stop. (Volunteer work by me for the community.)
- Anicewong.com, a Web site of a travelling photographer residing in Ottawa.
